"Migration Triptych" by Leo E. Osborne
Acrylic painting on canvas
overall image size: 18x23"
"Representative of what I see here at my island studio (Guemes Island, Anacortes WA) The great white birds flying north or south depending on the seasons, continue to intrigue with their whooping honks and crooning's as they fly overhead... the great migration of many species fly across our little piece of paradise. This work is done in the oxidation style and the greens in the birds are not painted, only oxidized. The use of watery acrylic pigments on the metallic surface of gold leaf makes for an interesting pattern of background. Is it sky over the birds? or is it water below them? I do not know!!!" -LEO
