2022 Thompson R2-J ​Rotary Art Scholarship information sponsored by Thompson Valley and Loveland Rotary Clubs Applicants, please download the application form and fill in the fields to submit with your qualification files. Thompson R2-J ​Rotary Art Scholarship

The Art Scholarship Committee Chair must receive complete applications no later than 5:00 PM, Friday, March 10, 2023.  To be fair to all applicants, no exceptions can be made
The Loveland and Thompson Valley Rotary Clubs wish to support and encourage students who are pursuing an education and future career in the field of art. Therefore, in 2023, the Thompson Valley Rotary Club will provide two (2) single-year $4,000 scholarships and the Loveland Rotary Club will provide two (2) single-year $4,000 art scholarships to applicants who apply and meet the criteria and standards set forth by their Art Scholarship Committee.
 
Eligibility: Applicants must be high school seniors in the Thompson R2-J School District who will graduate this Spring (2023) and intend to major or minor in Art Studies by enrolling in a university, college, or art school in the next academic year.
 
Eligible art categories may constitute all, or parts, of the student portfolio submission: painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, design, graphic arts, photography. If images are from multiple categories, please choose “mixed”. 
​NOTE: We are not including video at this time.

The scholarship application must include:
  1. (1) Completed Application, with name, contact, school information and art category.
  2. (1) 250 word typed essay about: “Why I Want to Pursue a Career in Art” indicating the applicant’s goals and preferred or expected post-secondary school. (we recommend you create this prior to starting the application so you can copy and paste your edited text.)
  3. (8) JPGs: image portfolio containing a clear representation of exactly eight (8) original works of art by the applicant. Format files 1-8: “last_ first_#_title” approx 1024 pixels, 72 dpi, jpg, RGB. For professionalism of presentation crop to remove extraneous background material.

Finalists will be invited for an interview and will be asked to present the original works shown in their portfolio with personal commentary. They will be notified by email as to when and where the interview will be held. In addition to the artistic merit of their work, applicants will be judged on the quality of their overall presentation, including the written essay and personal interview.

Our Loveland location of Columbine Art Gallery and the National Sculptors' Guild has quickly become the largest original fine art source in Colorado located across the street from Sculpture in the Park events at Benson Park, we feature artwork by 50 represented artists year round, ship worldwide.
