2017 Tal Walton Paintings

Nearly a dozen new paintings have arrived from Tal Walton, transforming Columbine's front room. The pieces are incredibly strong, even the most subtle images. A most notable distinction from past work is the diverse and bold palettes Tal is currently exploring, although his voice is clearly still present. Pictured with Denny Haskew sculptures. click here to shop online.

"Those brave sculptors who wouldn't be deterred from sharing their visions. ...put forth their best efforts and kept foundries, fabrication shops, and brick and mortar gallery doors open. Sculpture is a team sport in most instances requiring many hands." -John Kinkade from 'Sculpture in Today's World', Art of the West July/August 2017   Pick up a copy to read the full article....

The National Sculptors' Guild Sculpture Garden is filling up for summer with new sculpture and blossoms. We are pleased to have three new pieces from Stephen Shachtman. click the images below to shop online.
Sculpture in the National Sculptors' Guild garden by Jane DeDecker, Stone Forest, and Stephen Shachtman. Shachtman is constantly seeking to find something new and stimulating in either a physical or cerebral sense. The sculptures he creates circulate with aesthetics in contemporary forms with influences and inspiration from, science, architecture, and techniques. These inspirations inform him to create series’ with specific dialogue due to process', dimensions, material usage, and overall presence. Depending on the sculptural forms and concepts, a few primary materials employed are; copper, glass, and steel. Some of the elements in Stephen’s work range from; hammered surfaces which have an organic aesthetic while overall forms tend to have clean lines with a minimalist approach yet are monolithic in presence. Some aesthetics are large-scale filigree in the metal that allows a viewer to see through the organic forms, while similar manipulation of glass elements are stacked to create positive and negative spaces. All pieces are affected by the orientation of light to unveil the personality of the sculptures, which create a 4th dimension of shadows and reflection as they emerge to produce an element of surprise.

As we enter the New Year, we have great anticipation of fun, artful moments as we Celebrate our 25th Anniversary of dedication to the Arts, Artists and our Patrons.

Columbine Gallery and the NSG sculpture Garden are full of great paintings and sculptures ready for your collection by our 50 represented artists. In honor of our 25th, we've traced back information on the building that houses all this beautiful artwork by getting in touch with the architect. See what we discovered. We also have our annual shows to look forward to this Spring, Summer and Fall. We hope to see you at any and all, plus a few times in between.

JK Designs and the National Sculptors' Guild have a number of large-scale projects already in the works this year. We look forward to sharing these exciting art statements with you as we complete and install them. We are finalists in other placements, and designing other concepts that we hope to also see actualized this year.

We wish you a wonderful 2017 & look forward to continuing to assist you in the practice of  Living with Art.

2017 Artist to Watch Mark Bailey

Congratulations to Columbine Gallery's painter Mark Bailey selected by Southwest Art Magazine as 1 of 10 'Artists to Watch in 2017' featured in the January issue on newsstands now.A Night Out by Mark Bailey
Congratulations to Columbine Gallery's painter Mark Bailey selected by Southwest Art Magazine as 1 of 10 'Artists to Watch in 2017' featured in the January issue on newsstands now. click here for the full article

"Mark Andrew Bailey refuses to be pigeonholed when it comes to defining his style.....

...Using a music analogy, he compares the brush stroke to a note, and the way each note is played is what creates the complexity or interest in a piece....

...'I’m drawn to the human element and subject matter that is easily relatable,” he says, then adds, “A lot of art has gone negative and dark, but I have always wanted to create things that bring people joy.”...

...While Bailey has been turning heads on a national level, winning Best of Show at the 2015 Governor’s Art Show in Loveland, CO, is extremely meaningful to the Loveland native. 'I grew up here,' he says. 'Going to the show is what exposed me to people who were doing this for a living. Now to be back in Colorado and to be eligible and then accepted into the show, let alone to win this award, it feels like I’ve come full circle.'...
